Remember to save your data periodically, especially when entering large number of commodities.
The Description of Commodity is a pre-populated field based on the Commodity Type and Intended Use selected on the Certificate Content page.
Important: A Universal (or User-Defined) Health Certificate will follow different steps than a VEHCS-Defined Health Certificate.
To enter commodity information, complete the following steps:
1. | Enter the Number of Rows to generate. You can also pre-select the default rows such as Default Variety/Strain/Trade Name, Default Sex, Default Breed, Default Microchip, or Default Additional Description.
NOTE: You may only add 100 rows at a time. |
2. | Click the Generate Rows button.
RESULT: The Commodities page refreshes and displays the default data in the table. |
NOTE: If you need to add more rows after generating the table, enter the additional number in Number of Rows and click the Generate Rows button. The rows will appear at the end of the existing table. Previously entered data will not be lost.
Steps for the VEHCS Defined PDF Health Certificate are listed below.
To enter commodity information, complete the following steps:

NOTE: For VEHCS Defined PDF health certificates, the Number of Rows are defined by the Admin and cannot exceed the number of rows allowed for the health certificate. |
2. | Click the Generate Rows button.

3. | Enter the Total Quantity. |

3. | Complete the Commodities table with specific details depending on the type of certificate being created. For specific details, click the appropriate link below: |
NOTE: If your Commodities page does not look as is described in the commodity certificate links above, then you have a User-Defined Health Certificate. To continue with the steps for a User-Defined Health Certificate, click here.
4. | You can delete a commodity row by selecting the corresponding checkbox and clicking the Delete button. You can also use the Select All link to delete all the commodities in the table. |
You can click the Show All button to view all the commodities at once.
5. | If you need to add more rows after generating the table, enter the additional number in Number of Rows and click the Generate Rows button. The rows will appear at the end of the existing table. Previously entered data will not be lost. |
6. | The Total Quantity is automatically updated as commodity rows are added to the table. The Total Quantity will be shown on the certificate.
NOTE: The number of digits that allowed for the Total Quantity to eight. The Total Quantity typically reflects the number of rows in the table, as it is one commodity (one animal) per row. However, for commodities that have a Quantity box in each row, the Total Quantity will reflect the total Quantities of all rows added together. |
7. | When you have completed entering your information, click the Next button to proceed. You can also click the Save as Work in Progress and return to the certificate at a later time. |
HELPFUL HINT: You may enter certificate information in any order by selecting the links at the left of the screen; for example, you can enter Certificate Content information and then General information. In this Help file, data entry into the certificate will be explained sequentially as if using the Next button. At the bottom of each page the Previous, Save as Work in Progress, and Next buttons are available.
The type of Certificate (Certificate Content) and the unique Certificate Tracking Number is always displayed at the top of each Certificate screen.
